McCaffery Family Portrait Session

Allan and I recently photographed the McCaffery family- Bryan, Lynne, Connor and Morgan- while they were in Knoxville visiting family. It was a great session and although Morgan was not particularly keen on having her photograph taken, we got some great shots of this wonderful and fun family.

Allan and I would love the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family. Contact us to arrange for a portrait session consultation today.

Eskimo Escapades :: Freezin' It For Fifteen...For Real!

Eskimo Escapades....sign up and Shut Up and Ski! Allan and I along with Shannon Neustadt voluntarily spent Saturday braving the cold and rain to shoot the photographs for Eskimo Escapades. Allan and I have been photographing EE for several years and really enjoy having the opportunity to connect with our watersports friends and meeting new people and, of course, sharing the photographs we take with everyone who rode, wished they rode, watched them ride, or is just curious about what goes on at EE. The event was called early due to all the debris making its way down the Tennessee River at a rapid pace. It was a fun day even with the rain and the cold, especially for the winner of the 2009 MasterCraft X-1. Somebody will be enjoying the river when warmer weather returns.

Be sure to check the ALM Photo website in the next day or so for all of the photographs Allan, Shannon and I took on Saturday. Click here and select Eskimo Escapades or go to Proofs at www.almphoto.com to view and purchase photographs.

ALM Photo is available to photograph your event, contact Lisa or Allan for more information.

In a word...it was cold...just ask the Carter girls

Must have been a tad too cold for these guys to ride...

Rain, rain go away!

TWRA shut down the skiing early due to all the stuff in the river...including this old TV (good eyes, Shannon!)

This guy is awesome! Every year he gets up on the chair on top of a wooden disc. Amazing!!

Now, this is one smart dog.

Matthew getting ready to ride...

Shannon, our faithful assistant for the day. She was such a trooper- wet and cold- she stayed out in the boat all day. Thanks for all your help!!

The WIVK frog stops by for a visit...

Local news coverage of the event

Will Robinson wasn't afraid of a little rain, rough water or nasty debris...

Slalom skiing was another option.

This girl had the right gear for the day...well, maybe a raincoat would have helped.

These two dudes showed up a little too late to ride, TWRA had already shut the event down. Bummer, dude...

Waiting on the dock...

Shannon shooting the action- trying to stay dry and warm. Thank goodness for heaters!

Eskimo Escapades :: Saturday, January 10, 2009

Allan and Lisa will be heading down to Volunteer Landing on the Tennessee River in downtown Knoxville this Saturday, January 10th to photograph the 15th Annual Eskimo Escapades Shut Up and Ski! If you have never heard of the Eskimo Escapades, it is a winter waterski charity event in support of the Dream Connection and the Patricia Neal Innovative Recreation Cooperative (PNIRC).

About the charities:
The Dream Connection is a not-for-profit organization, which benefits regional children who hold a dream and are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Some of these dreams are costly and donations are always needed.
The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center is the largest rehabilitation facility in the state and surrounding areas and provides treatment to individuals who have suffered injuries resulting in physical or mental disabilities. The Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center serves its patients by empowering them through physical rehabilitation, recreational rehabilitation, and relearning of day-to-day activities to cope with their recent disabilities.

All you have to do to ride is register, either in advance on-line or on site, with a minimum donation of $50 and be either a full or guest member of USA WaterSki. Guest membership for the event is $10.

For more information about registering for the event or to find out how you can buy a raffle ticket for only $100 to win a $60,000 2009 Mastercraft X-1 wakeboard boat...only 1000 tickets will be sold through Friday, January 9th, check out Eskimo Escapades. You know you want this boat and you will also be helping two great charities that benefit so many people in East Tennessee, so don't wait, buy your tickets today!

Combination of Talents :: Photography + Fused Glass Art

ALM Photo + Sassy Glass Studio = Great Photography for Great Art

The holiday shopping season may be over, but the "shop" we set up for the Sassy Glass Studio Open House has been left open so Allan and I have access to the inventory and can shoot photographs of all the pieces. There are a couple of reasons why we need the photographs- one is so the pieces can be listed in the Sassy Glass Studio Etsy shop and another is to create a portfolio showcasing my one-of-a-kind fused glass art so I will have an actual book to take to shops and boutiques to see if any would be interested in carrying my art. Allan and I set up the light table and lights in the still unfinished photography studio, but at least it is a huge space to work in and I can work on the photographs in stages. Some of the photographs we took the other day are shown below. This project will keep us busy for a while as there are over 100 pieces to shoot, but it will be so worth it to have great photographs that really show off the uniqueness and beauty of each work of art. Be sure to check out the Sassy Glass Studio blog for updates on this project in addition to the Etsy shop.

ALM Photo will be announcing two absolutely fantastic new photography packages in the next week...stay tuned!! Also, if you know an artist who needs professional photography for their on-line shop, website or blog, pass our information on to them...they will thank you!
