Pro Wakeboard Tour Slides Into Knoxville {ALM Photo | Knoxville Professional Photographers}

Wakeboarding fever was at an all time high this weekend as The Pro Wakeboard Tour slid into Knoxville, TN, its third stop of the 2009 season. Here are a few highlights from Saturday at Volunteer Landing. Allan and I shot from a number of different vantage points during the day to capture all the excitement and action.
Thanks to Mastercraft for hooking us up with lunch and a boat to shoot from. Much appreciated! Come check out the action again on Sunday!
Additional images will be posted on the website in the "proofs" section and on the ALM Photo Facebook page.

William Blount High School Reunion - Class of 1999 {ALM Photo | Knoxville Professional Photographers}

This past weekend while Lisa was soaking up the sun in Savannah, Allan was having a great time photographing the William Blount High School Reunion for the Class of 1999. The weather cooperated and its evident from the photographs below that everyone had a great time, kids and dogs included. Enjoy!

Pause for Photographs :: A Missed Moment {ALM Photo | Knoxville Professional Photographers}

Thankfully my elliptical has a ten minute "pause" feature. I had just started my cardio workout this morning when I looked out the garage door in the basement at the hobo fire barrel in the backyard just like I always do. However, unlike other mornings the bright, low early morning sun was shining directly on the barrel and dew was evaporating into smoky swirls. It took only a second to decide I wanted to photograph that smoky swirliness so I hopped off the elliptical, ran upstairs, grabbed the 5D and scampered out to the barrel. Sadly, by the time I got out there the smoky swirliness was gone but the sun was still there so I fired off these four shots. Then I scampered back to the house, took the dogs out to their pen and got back downstairs with 53 seconds left of my 10 minute "pause"...best 9 minutes of my day so far.

Textures :: Rust, Party of One {ALM Photo | Knoxville Professional Photographers}

What do you see when you look at these images? An old, rusty chair? An old, even rustier table? Not me. I see beauty in the texture and form of vintage metal furniture which is exactly why I collect it up from the side of the road and on the cheap at yard sales. I love the lines of the chair and the perfect peeliness of the paint, revealing the deep green it once was. The table is especially attractive with its thick veneer of orange rust on top and its long legs with flaky skin of green below. As a photographer, I often look at things a little differently than most, and if you do too, then my lens cap is off to you! Now seating...Rust, party of one....

Nature's Palette :: A Mother's Garden {ALM Photo | Knoxville Professional Photographers}

My mother, Sandra, wanted to remember how beautiful the lilies were and asked me to come over with my camera and take some photographs of them. These Orange Asiatic Lilies are a vivid contrast to the light pink primrose who share the flower bed.
