Allan and I spent quite a bit of time in downtown Knoxville on Thursday, April 8th. We were there early in the morning to set up the Sassy Glass Studio tent for the Dogwood Arts Festival Market Square Art Fair and then later that same day to take photographs at
Salon Visage and at the
Knoxville Habitat for Humanity 2010 Boutique Sale and Fashion Show. We were asked by Belinda, owner of Salon Visage and Ali, one of her stylists, to donate our time and talent to photograph the models getting ready at the salon on Market Square and then head over to the Farragut Building on Gay Street to shoot the fashion show.

The weather had been terrible all day, especially in the morning when it rained buckets while we set-up the tent, but the showers ceased and the sun came out shortly after we arrived at the salon.

There was a flurry of activity in the salon while all the models were getting their hair styled and make-up applied.

After all the hair was styled and the face made up, the models headed over to the Farragut Building to get dressed for the fashion show.

After the last model headed down the runway, Allan and I packed up our cameras and headed across the street to Krutch Park extension to finish setting up for the Art Fair. It was a long day, but we had a fabulous time at the fashion show and all the models and stylists (some did double-duty as both!) were fun to work with. I did grab a couple of tiny cupcakes on my way out the door so it was a perfect night!
